Your Business Presentation!
Why do all presentations begin with the compensation
plan? Why do the 'gurus' focus on the pay plan?
They teach their downline or clients to focus on
understanding the 'matrix', the 'compression' or
'spillover'. Hey, of course the compensation
matters! You're in business to generate sales!
But why is the focus on 'slick pitches' or catch
phrases? I believe what needs to taught is to focus
on what you're selling and to build lasting
relationships with your clients, customers, or
business partners. The common sales pitch is about
how much money you can make with X amount of signups
or sales. The entire presentation is all about the
superior compensation plan and usually very little
focus on the quality of the product(s) or service.
I remember the first presentation I got. It was
a introduction into a dream, we were pitched on
the idea of 'instant riches'! I liked the idea
of 'residual income' and 'extra income'. But
there seemed to be something fishy about his
attitude, his excitement seemed a little bit
insincere. I felt like he was only thinking
of the money I could make him! It seemed like
he didn't really know anything about what he
was marketing. I didn't Trust him!
I just couldn't understand why he didn't emphasis
the product more! I even asked at one point, when
I could get my 2 cents worth in, "Hey, What are the
products like"? He replied "OH, There excellent and
they sell themselves"! I thought to myself "Why Do
You Need Me Then"?
They Don't Sell Themselves!
You've got to 'Qualify' the product(s) or service
you will be marketing. You've been taught to focus
on the pay plan, but the part time (or full time)
marketer needs to focus on the quality of the
products and how you present that to a prospect.
What is it going to do for me? What are the benefits
to me? You need a decent compensation plan for your
efforts, but you also need to be familiar with the
product. You have to invest your time to make the
right decision about your marketing future.
You have to realize that you can't sell people
something you aren't familiar with and like
or use yourself. Do you believe in what your
selling? Is it something you would buy and use?
Your Reputation and Success depends on it!
You will succeed if you give people a decent
product or service and they'll give you return
business as well. It's all about quality and
integrity. The relationships you build will
remain strong if you offer value. You don't
need a 'slick pitch', you just need to be
honest and know the product you're selling.
You have to earn people's trust! You'll be
rewarded with more than 'residual income',
you might just earn their 'Respect'!
Do Your Homework! Take Your Time!
Remember it's the 'Product' not the 'Pitch'!
